Why do we run camps for young people? Is it just to give them a good time and a holiday away from home?

NO!!...there's so much more to it than that.

As of July 2013, all camp directors for the CYC ministry camps are appointed by a committee made of up of a selection of current and past directors. This Camping Committee is a sub committee of the Council of Management

Much prayer should surround finding suitable persons, as the whole tone of the camp is determined by the quality of its leadership.

Once you have been appointed as a camp director the work really begins!!!

Hopefully this manual can help you plan, organise and run the best camp possible.

Whilst it may seem your job as camp director is over after you leave the camp-site, it actually is not.

There are several things that need to be completed from a paperwork perspective and it pays to do this as soon as possible after camp whilst the details are still fresh in your mind.

While the Speaker is primarily responsible for the Bible teaching component, all leaders should be aware of this most important side of the camp, and be prepared to fully support it in every way possible.

Leaders may at times have the opportunity of reinforcing what the Speaker has taught, and of giving spiritual counsel to campers. Hence, it is essential that all leaders study this section.
